【辨析1】no more… than --- 与not more… than --- 接句子时的区别

1．no more --- than --- 含有否定意义，表示“与---一样不---”。

2．not more ---than --- 具有肯定意义，表示“不如---”。

比较1：

① Tom is no taller than Jack. 汤姆和杰克一样不太高。

②  Tom is not taller than Jack. 汤姆没有杰克高。

比较2：

① He speaks English no more clearly than I. 他和我一样英语说不太清楚。

② He doesn’t speak English more clearly than I. 他说英语没有我清楚。

注意1：no more---than --- 表示“--- 与 --- 几乎一样”，但是程度低。

He jumped no farther than I. 他跳得和我差不多远。(暗示一样不远，很近)

注意2：no more --- than --- 还可以后接名词或者动词。

I can no more sing than he can dance. 我不会唱歌就像他不会跳舞一样。

The spider is no more an insect than the whale is a fish. 正如鲸不是鱼一样，蜘蛛不是昆虫。

 

【辨析2】no more than 与not more than 接数词时的区别

1、no more than后接数词，表示“仅仅”相当于only

2、not more than后接数词，表示“不超过”

例如：

① He concluded his idea in no more than sixty words. 他只用了60个字来总结他的观点。

② He concluded his idea in not more than sixty words. 他用了不足60个字来总结他的观点。
