1. hesitate vi. 犹豫；踌躇

2. condemn vt. 谴责；使…注定

8. fade out （声音、画面）逐渐模糊；渐淡
fade away 消失；逐渐减弱；褪色
fade in 淡入；渐渐显示出；使渐强 (指电影、电视中的画面与声音)
fade up 渐强 (指电视、广播中的声音)
die away 指(声音)逐渐消逝
die down 指(声音)逐渐减弱，衰弱
eg: The sound had died away / faded out.
It was dark and the noise died down.
The shapes faded away into the night.
